Presentation By Kristine Urbauer

Kristine Urbauer is currently the Program Manager, Hiring our Heroes Corporate Fellowship Program for the Upper Midwest. She has been with the organization since March 2019, and places active duty service members in fellowships with local and national companies. Prior to HOH, Kris was the Program Manager of Military Recruiting and JOLP (Junior Officer Leadership Program) for the General Electric Company. She was responsible for all of GE’s veterans initiatives in some form since June 2011. She led all military hiring for the company, managed the Junior Officer Leadership Program (JOLP), led the Transition Assistance Workshop program as part of GE’s sponsorship of the US Chamber of Commerce Hiring Our Heroes initiative, and acted as a liaison to the military and veteran community. Kris spent 21 years with GE- in various engineering, Six Sigma, and Global Personnel Relations roles prior to finding her dream job as the leader of GE’s military programs. Prior to GE, she was on active duty in the US Army as an Engineer Officer for over 10 years, to include a year at Ground Zero in NYC after 9/11. She holds a B.S. in Civil Engineering from the United States Military Academy at West Point, NY (86), an M.S. in Civil Engineering from the University of Illinois at Champaign-Urbana (96), and a Professional Engineer license from the State of Illinois.
