Presentation by Sharon Merrill, SHRM-SCP, M.S.

Sharon Merrill, SHRM-SCP, M.S., brings a wealth of experience to her role as the Director of Diversity & Inclusion and Co-Director of Membership for DuPage SHRM. With a career spanning over 30 years in Human Resources, Sharon has held important leadership positions, including Chief Human Resources Officer (CHRO) and Assistant Vice President (AVP) of HR. In these roles, she played a vital part in the President’s Task Force on Diversity and Inclusion and was responsible for developing mandatory inclusion training specifically designed for hiring managers and search committees.

In addition to her organizational roles, Sharon is dedicated to advancing leadership development. She develops content and facilitates leadership development programs, drawing on her expertise and credentials. Sharon is certified in a leadership program through the Association of College and University Educators (ACUE), specifically in “Fostering a Culture of Belonging.” She is also committed to ongoing professional growth and is currently pursuing leadership coaching credentials. 

A strong advocate for inclusive and respectful workplaces, Sharon ensures that every employee feels appreciated and valued. Her leadership and dedication have had a significant impact on creating organizational cultures where diversity, equity, and inclusion are prioritized.
